When a patient requests a repeat prescription it will be issued within two working days, although we will aim to have it ready sooner.

Medications will be issued if they have been deemed to be a ‘repeat medication’ and the patients medication review is not overdue.

There may be times when a requested medication is deemed not to be appropriate or needs review prior to being issued.

This decision will be made by a clinician (usually a doctor, but could be a nurse prescriber or clinical pharmacist).

The decision and any necessary discussion with the patient will be had by a clinician.

The easiest, safest, and quickest way to order your repeat prescription is via SystmOnline.

There is no need to make a phone call or visit us; instead computer, smartphone or tablet users can request repeat prescriptions from anywhere in the UK – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We are keen to ensure that patients with ongoing medical problems are monitored regularly. If the date for your next review with a doctor or nurse has passed, you may be asked to make an appointment.

How to order your repeat prescription


You can order your repeat prescriptions via SystmOnline by clicking here.

In person

Please tick the items you need on the tear-off side of your prescription and drop it into the red box at the surgery.

By post

Supply a stamped addressed envelope and we will return your prescription can be returned via Royal Mail.

Please make sure you have at least one week supply before you  request your prescription and please put in the full medication name to avoid delay.

Please allow two full working days, excluding weekends and bank holidays, for your request to be processed.

Please note, if you are requesting medications that you have not had in the last six months, or if it is something that the specialist has prescribed, it may take more than 48 hours to process your request.

Electronic Prescription Service

If you get regular prescriptions, the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) may be able to save you time by avoiding unnecessary trips to your GP.


EPS makes it possible for your prescriptions to be sent electronically to the pharmacy or dispenser of your choice.


Choosing a pharmacy or dispensing appliance contractor to process your EPS prescription is called nomination. This means you’ll no longer have to collect a paper repeat prescription from your GP practice – instead, you can go straight to the nominated pharmacy or dispensing appliance contractor to pick up your medicines or medical appliances.

Because your pharmacist has already received your electronic prescription, they may be able to prepare your items in advance, so you just have to pick it up with no extra wait.


However, this depends on the capacity of pharmacists on the day, and may not be possible all the time.
